When I was kid, in the 50’s, our family went on a vacation to Florida. Dad stayed home. Back then the house had a large field in the back. One day the field caught on fire. Dad and the neighbors got together to put out the fire. Back then they used anything they could get their hands on to put out the fire. Dad used a burlap bag. Unbeknownst to him, he brought in a burning ember with the bag. Before long the garage had caught on fire. He didn’t want to ruin our Florida vacation so he didn’t tell us about the fire.
When we got home the whole house experienced smoke damage which you can see on this product.
The Capitol Records read-along series with Bozo the Clown was the first of its kind, premiering in 1946. Pinto Colvig was the voice of Bozo, who remained two-dimensional until brought to TV in 1949 and again in 1959, when his career took off. If you have a turntable, you can enjoy the high pitch of “The World’s Most Famous Clown,” but even if not, you can still read the story and enjoy the colorful artwork.
